There are so many clubs in Roosevelt that it is easy for someone to get confused. Sometimes you hear about a club a lot, but other times you don’t even know it exists until you see something about it in the yearbook! This will help you know and understand about different types of clubs available at Roosevelt Middle School. If you are very interested in one of these clubs, ask the person who runs it and go ahead and try to join! Who knows, maybe the club you have been looking for is in this very article.

If you love singing, this is the club is for you! It runs at different times depending on what your grade is, but usually one practice is in the morning and one practice is at lunch. They have a winter concert and if you decide to, you can sing for the spring musical, and tour to Lincoln and Willard. To learn more and join ask Mrs. Woolley.

Cross Country:

If you love to run, this is the sport for you! Practice is daily from 3:30-4:30. You get to go on meets and race against other schools. Even if you are not that great of a runner, you can still run with your friends! For more information you can ask Ms. Starr, Mr. Considine, Mr. Janisch, or Mr. Mendralla.

Band and Orchestra:

Even if you haven’t played an instrument before, you can still join! Both Band and Orchestra students will have at least one 30 minute practice during school every week. For both you are put in a group depending your skill level, not your grade level. There are three levels of Orchestra and there are also three levels of Band. For more information ask Mr. Hunfus for band or Mr. Acevedo for Orchestra.

Art Club:

Art Club meets every Wednesday after school from 3:20 to 4:20. It’s a great way to meet new friends and hang out with old ones! You get to work on different projects each week. Even if you’re not that great at art, you will still have an amazing time! For more information ask Mrs. Mcpartlin.

Diversity Club:

Diversity Club is a wonderful way to learn about different cultures with friends and have a great time. You meet every Monday from 3:20 to 4:20. Special guest speakers talk to you about their trips to different countries. You get to try different types of food from all around the world. Also, you get to run the Cultural Extravaganza which shows off different types of cultures with fun activities. For more information and to join, contact Mrs. McInerney.

Fantasy Football:

If you love football and know your players, this club is for you! It meets Tuesday and Friday during lunch. You get to draft different players each week and see their scores. The person who did the best wins a trophy! Who doesn’t want a trophy? For more information and possibly join contact Mr. Mann or Mr. Schlachter.

Best Buddies

If you strive to be the kindest you can, this club is for you! You get to hang out and have fun with some of our disabled friends at the school! You meet Tuesdays during lunch and other school events. Not only that, you get a best buddy too. For more information, contact Ms. Highfill or Ms. Cassidy.

Walk and Talk

If you love walking and would like a breath of fresh air once and awhile, Walk and Talk club is for you! You can basically talk about anything you want. Anyone can come and walk, 6th graders on Friday during recess and 8th graders can come on Tuesday during recess. Fresh air is good for your health and learning. For more info, ask Mrs. Casaccio.

Ping Pong

If you want to try something new and you love sports, you’ll also love Ping Pong club! You get to learn about ping pong and play matches against your friends! You meet Tuesday and Friday at 7:15 to 8:00 am. Not like other clubs, this club starts in November so you have plenty of time to decide. Maybe change it up a little. For more information, ask Ms. Latzke or Mr. Kadlec.

If you love the yearbook and think that you have the skills to help make it, join yearbook! You can come any day during lunch and work on the yearbook with friends. Yearbook is a great way to make new friends and hang out with old ones. All you have to do is fill in a form to get in. If you have other questions ask Mrs. Rains.

If you are a fan of the Bulldog Bulletin and you love writing, this club is for you! Newspaper is open every day of the week, except for Wednesday. You must come at least two times every week. Don’t worry about having to fill out a form, you can enter Newspaper as long as you are willing to make a commitment. For more information, ask Mrs. Graves or Mrs. Casaccio.

If you have any other clubs in mind that you would like to mention, be free to write a comment about it.

Please add Book Club on the list. It has not started up yet but it will soon. It is in room 230 with Ms. Peterson and you read a book with the club and all talk about it! This club is recently opened to grades 5&6 only
